Application Process & Requirements

A smooth, guided process from start to passport, with expert support at every stage to ensure efficiency, compliance, and peace of mind.

Begin by appointing Citiverse as your licensed agent.

We guide you through every step of the process, ensuring compliance with Dominica’s CBI regulations and helping you choose the most suitable investment route.

Once you decide to proceed, you will sign a client agreement with Citiverse and pay the required retainer fee.

This formalises our role as your authorised representative throughout the application process.

With our guidance, you will gather all necessary documents, including passport copies, birth and marriage certificates, police clearance, medical examination results, and proof of source of funds.

Our team reviews all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.

After all documents are prepared, Citiverse submits your application to Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU).

At this stage, government due diligence and processing fees must be paid.

The CBIU conducts extensive background checks on all applicants.

As part of the process, applicants aged 16 and above must attend a mandatory virtual interview to confirm their identity and eligibility.

Once due diligence is complete, eligible applicants receive an Approval in Principle.

This confirms that your application is successful, pending the completion of your qualifying investment.

Within 90 days of receiving Approval in Principle, you must complete your chosen investment – either by making the Economic Diversification Fund donation or finalising the approved real estate purchase.

After your investment is verified, you will be issued a Certificate of Naturalisation.

You can then apply for your Dominica passport, officially granting you citizenship with all associated rights and benefits.

FAQ - Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program

The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program is a government-established route that allows qualified applicants and eligible family members to obtain Dominican citizenship through an approved investment. Introduced in 1993, it is one of the most established citizenship by investment frameworks in the Caribbean.

The minimum investment starts from US$200,000. Applicants may qualify either through a contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund or through an investment in government-approved real estate, subject to the applicable government, due diligence, and professional fees.

Dominica offers two qualifying routes: a contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund (EDF) and an investment in approved real estate. Each route is structured differently and should be considered in light of the applicant’s objectives, family composition, and preferred investment profile.

The process is generally regarded as efficient, and many applications are completed within a matter of months. On the Citiverse page, the program is presented with an estimated processing time of 3 to 9 months, while the official process includes document review, due diligence, approval in principle, completion of the investment, and issuance of citizenship documents.

Yes. The program allows the inclusion of eligible dependents, including a spouse, qualifying children, parents, and grandparents, subject to the applicable rules. Family eligibility is one of the key strengths of the Dominica program for clients seeking a structured multi-person solution.

No. Dominica citizenship by investment does not generally require applicants to live in or visit Dominica in order to obtain citizenship. This makes the program particularly suitable for internationally mobile individuals and families.

Yes. Dominica allows multiple citizenships, and citizenship obtained under the program is granted for life. This is an important advantage for applicants who wish to expand international options without giving up their original nationality, subject to the laws of their home country.

Dominica citizenship is often valued for its combination of affordability, global mobility, and long-term flexibility. Key benefits include visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 140 destinations, no mandatory residence requirement, citizenship for life, and the ability to pass citizenship to future generations in accordance with the law.

A standard application typically includes passport copies, birth and marriage certificates where applicable, police clearance certificates, medical documentation, and evidence of the lawful source of funds. All documents must be prepared in line with the formal submission requirements, including notarization and legalization where required.

Applications are submitted through an Authorized Agent and cannot be filed directly by the applicant. This is a formal government process overseen by the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Unit, with due diligence and compliance checks forming a central part of the review.
